Ref: Rockford Common gravel track maintenance
National Trust rangers have recently been working in your area to maintain the network of gravel tracks. Many of these have not received routine maintenance for a number of years and have been in poor condition for some time, in some areas becoming almost impassable. Those tracks requiring remedial works have been re-graded where necessary and heavy rolled to improve access. This has involved additional investment alongside our staff and machinery resource which we feel on this occasion has been worthwhile. Due care and general maintenance will continue to remain the responsibility of the adjacent home owners. Damage to tracks as a direct result of National Trust land management access however would be an exception where we will always make good.
We thank you for the positive feedback received and your continued support in the caring for the community.
