Register to switch and save money on your energy bills

New Forest residents are being urged to register for Switch Hampshire, the collective energy switching service that could mean lower household bills for gas and electricity. New Forest District Council is working with other local authorities including Hampshire County Council on the ‘Switch Hampshire’ scheme that will enable gas and electricity consumers to use their combined purchasing power to seek a better deal on their bills.

Road closure – Gorley Road


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) that New Forest District Council, acting as agent to the Traffic Authority, Hampshire County Council, owing to works in connection with ford repairs considers that the closure to the road as specified below should come into force without delay:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: That length of C159 Gorley Road Ringwood, between its junction with Northfield Road and its junction with Ellingham Drove.


Annual Parish meeting 2013

The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Tuesday 23 April at Ellingham Church Hall at 7.30pm. Please come along to hear the Chairman’s Annual Report, this year’s Guest Speaker Lee Hulin, National Trust Outdoors Ranger and take the opportunity to address the Parish Council and the Guest Speaker on any topics that of concern within the Parish.

Fuel Oil Theft Alert

New Forest residents and businesses are urged to step up the security of their heating and diesel oil following recent thefts. Thieves are targeting fuel tanks at farms, transport depots, businesses and homes in the forest due to the rising cost and the prolonged cold weather, which places an extra demand on heating. Make-over for Moyles Court ford and parking

The County Council installed the original barrier scheme around the ford at Moyles Court nearly ten years ago to stop vehicles parking all over the SSSI designated verges; it was also intended to separate the cars from where people picnicked and played around the stream. National Trust walks – Dates announced

There will be a guided walk ‘open day’ provided by the National Trust at Rockford Common 25-03-2013 12-28-51on Saturday 20th April. We are able to offer three walks during the day, times being:

10:00am, 11:30am and 13:00pm, lasting 1hr approx. Maximum number of person’s for each walk 20. This is for a more manageable group and to limit impact. Booking is essential, please call the National Trust office at Burgate on 01425 650035.
